“For me photography is a joy, a passion, and a form of expression. When I am behind the lens, I’m in my “happy place.” I’m attracted to lighting, weathered objects, the play of shadows, and capturing the activities of everyday people in their environment. My favorite photos capture ephemeral moments in time; the once in a lifetime shot that’s already changed the moment you hear the shutter click, in the blink of an eye.
My photography represents spiritual moments in time in my travels near and far. Each may only capture a sliver of what I am experiencing, such as a glimpse of natural beauty or a macro lens perspective. I am grateful for the advancement of technology and immediacy of photography today. I first began taking pictures with a Polaroid, but in this rapidly changing medium, I can snap a photo with a professional camera, point-and-shoot camera, or an iPhone, whatever is handy, and essentially turn out the same quality of image.
I am pleased to share my perspective and honored to have my work on display in this public venue. Please enjoy these moments memorialized in print.”
