Coffee Cat
We're somewhat restless at Lulu's, and we like to stretch the envelope a bit when it comes to the cafe model. Coffee Cat is a brand we've owned for many years, the original stores having been built in Santa Barbara. We built this Coffee Cat in Scotts Valley, just up the road from Santa Cruz, in 2004. We located our roasting works in this store because of its relatively easy access from Highway 17, the major artery leading in from the Port of Oakland, where our coffee comes from. There's a 12-kilo Diedrich IR roaster in the front, right as you walk in, which makes for an engaging visual while one is waiting for coffee.
As always, we make a lot of our food on-site, and it's abundant, and it's delicious.
And get this, the drip coffee is free, all day, every day. Yes, you read that right :)
